Australia Zoo Rescue Unit Channel
The Australia Zoo Rescue Unit is carrying on the passion and legacy that Steve Irwin started.
This amazing crew work to rescue wildlife that are injured or trapped every day of the week. From Turtles to skinks the Rescue Unit travels sometimes 100s of kilometres every day to rescue injured animals.
The Australia Zoo Rescue Unit channel will introduce some amazing wildlife rescues and some not so lucky animals effected by human inhabitation. Through this channel the Australia Zoo Rescue Unit wishes to raise the awareness of the effect humans are having on the animals and the environment.
The majority of the wildlife rescues are taken back to the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital. In other cases rescued animals are taken to carers to care for and rehabilitate the animals.
Together we can keep Steve`s dream alive.
- Service provided by Australia Zoo to the Australian Wildlife Hospital
- The Zoo employs 6 staff and 2 cars everyday JUST for wildlife rescue
- We rescue everything from Blue Tongue Lizards to large marine mammals, Kangaroos and bird rescues!
- We rescue Koalas that have been hit by cars and attacked by dogs, and we also provide emergency transport for these animals to the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital
- We travel from the Gold Coast all the way to Bundaberg, and in to Esk and Blackbutt - but of course we will travel anywhere for a wildlife rescue.
- We specialise in high risk and dangerous rescues such as hit by car kangaroos on highways, marine life, reptiles and venomous snakes, and of course Koalas up the highest trees.
From koalas to Green Sea turtles, the Australia Zoo Rescue Unit is dedicated to rescuing all wildlife in need. From Brisbane to Kilcoy and beyond the team travels far and wide with a proven catch and release program in place- their aim is to successfully rescue, rehabilitate and release. The team works closely with Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors - Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital to ensure each animal received the best possible care.
For the Australia Zoo Rescue Unit to continue to save wildlife helping these amazing australian animals and australian wildlife rescue please sponsor the Australia Zoo Rescue Unit Conservation Project.
