Crocodile Hunter
Steve the star was born after a chance encounter with his friend, a television producer who was filming in the Park for TV. In true Steve style they took a punt and the first documentary, "The Crocodile Hunter" was produced in 1992. The tremendous success of this one program quickly encouraged the making of more and so over the next 3 years, 10 one hour episodes were made and on television screens all over the world. Steve has now filmed 50 episodes of "Crocodile Hunter", 52 episodes of "Croc Files".
Australia Zoo Rescue Unit
The Australia Zoo Rescue Unit is carrying on the passion and legacy that Steve Irwin started.
This amazing crew work to rescue injured or trapped wildlife every day of the week. From Turtles to skinks the Rescue Unit travels sometimes 100s of kilometres every day to rescue injured animals.
The Australia Zoo Rescue Unit channel will introduce some amazing animals rescued and some not so lucky. Through this channel the Australia Zoo Rescue Unit wishes to raise the awareness of the effect humans are having on the animals and the environment.
The majority of the rescues are taken back to the Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors Australian Wildlife Hospital. In other cases animals are taken to carers to care for and rehabilitate the animals.
Together we can keep Steve's dream alive.
