Don`t palm us off

Synopsis:
An ingredient in our food is costing the lives of over 1000 orangutans and year and about 50 orangutans a week.
It`s palm oil and it is found in 40% of the products on our shelves.
However palm oil is not being labeled truthfully on many products and this is not giving you the choice to whether you want products containing palm oil or not.
So do you want the choice?
Head to www.zoo.org.au/palmoil/information to send a submission to the government and sign the online petition.
Submissions close 24th April.

I have seen programmes in England about the plight of the gorgeous orangutan and the impact of the palm oil industry. I make a conscious effort to read all ingredients on the food I buy and I refuse to buy anything that has palm oil in it. You'd be surprised how many products have palm oil in it. With a little help from ourselves, and remember every one of us can make a difference, lets hope that we can preserve these beautiful animals for generations to come. Who would want to imagine a world without these gorgeous apes - don't yer just luv em?
