When I first started watching Steve I was captivated by how closely he was working with these magnificent reptiles, often on his own, and how tenderly he would talk about these crocs. Then, over time, I realised what I was actually witnessing was a 'love story' unfolding before my very eyes between Steve and his much cherished crocs, or modern day dinosaurs as he would often refer to them. It warmed me to the core hearing this wonderful man talk about these wonderful reptiles in such a loving, natural, genuine, caring way. He really loved his crocs in a way no one else ever could, because it came straight from the heart. I truly belive no-one will ever love these crocs more. The way in which he portrayed these beautiful reptiles, how could you not fall in love with them? Easy for me because, like Steve, I love all animals and think everything is gorgeous. I'm sure it must have irritated him terribly that he couldn't actually stroke, kiss or hug his much loved crocs. He would almost burst at the seams talking about them; he had so much to say and wanted to tell us so much about them in a way only Steve could. Thank you Steve for teaching us so much about these wonderful reptiles; I found it very easy to fall in love with them and Steve come to that (sorry Terri). I watched an episode of The Crocodile Hunter Diaries over here in England this morning and Steve is so alive and vibrant in it, but then the awlful realisation that this wonderful man is no longer with us hits home and that wonderful, warm glow that I have been experiencing since watching him suddenly turns to sadness when I know I have to accept that he is never coming home. I miss Steve, I miss him so very, very much.

Unfortunatley I am unable to view this episode over here in England. Nevertheless, I won't be disheartened. I have watched Steve enough to know exactly what this programme will be about. Steve will no doubt show off his beautiful, much loved crocs in the best light possible, teaching us slowly but surely about the wonders and power of these magnificent apex predators. He wants more than anything that we should fall in love with these gorgeous reptiles, or at the very least that we should try to understand them and admire them for the truly beautiful animal that they are. He wants to educate us in order that we may all come to love these reptiles and therefore hopefully ensure their survival. He wants nothing but the best for his beloved crocs (I'm 100% with you Steve). He loves them so much that he wants to show them off to everyone. If he can convert just one person to love and respect these gorgeous reptiles, Steve will be happy. His enthusiasm will, as always, shine through but Steve will always hope that his crocs will shine the brightest. He reels us all in with his demonstrations and loving way he talks about these prehistoric dinosaurs. You can clearly see the tremendous love he has for these animals and I'm right there with him, all the way. I hang on his every word, learning all the time. No-one will ever love these crocs more. I have cried many tears for this wonderful man, and still do, but I feel that if the wonderful crocs really were able to understand how much they were loved and respected by Steve, and how he was their best friend ever, it would surely be the crocs who would cry the hardest and longest.
